A fully loaded sea kayak is a heavy thing! And if you need to move the boat a distance to and from the sea lifting and moving the boat can be a conundrum.
Luckily the guys at Whetman equipment have come up with a simple solution, the Expedition Carry Strap is a 125cm length of heavy duty 40mm webbing and has a soft tubular 20mm handle sewn at each end. The strap can then be easily threaded under the deck-lines of the kayak, stopping the straps from sliding off the end of the kayak. Position each strap equidistant from the bow and stern to result in a even carry height.
The kayak can then easily be lifted by 4 people if the boat is heavily laden, or if the boat is only loaded lightly by two.
These are a simple and lightweight solution to moving heavy kayaks, they are also easy to stow when not in use.
