- What is a recreational kayak?
Recreational kayaks are great if you're a beginner or just looking for a stable and easy to use kayak on calm sheltered water like a lake, canal or slow-moving river. Typically, between 9' and 12' they are designed with ease of use and comfort in mind with wide flat hulls for stability, which are easy to paddle in a straight line, large open cockpits and padded seats and highly supportive backrests. Some may also have dry storage in the stern. Made from rotomolded plastic these boats are durable and will provide many years of fun on the water!
