A spacious cockpit and comfortable seating position make longer trips more enjoyable, but well positioned thigh braces and a padded seat and ratchet adjustable backrest mean you are well connected to the boat making tackling moving water up to about grade 3 possible without rattling around. A full plate foot rest also gives the Katana the feel of a more whitewater specific design but making it removable gives you extra room for storage.
A large rear storage hatch will take enough kit for an overnight trip and special attention has been given to making the skeg box as unimposing as possible to ensure maximum room.
Overall the Katana will provide a nice forgiving boat for beginners but also a fast manoeuvrable boat for the more experienced kayakers looking to tackle up to grade 3 rivers.
